As long as you don’t show any symptoms only an infection test can give you a proof result.

But you will not be able to receive a daily infection test. Also the time to receive the test result might be too long to prevent further spread. So you might wish to look for a solution that gives you an estimate of a possible infection – independent from your personal health status and test results.

The problem with the new SARS-CoV-2 virus is, that it has a quite long incubation time – that’s the time between an infection and your first symptoms. And even before you feel any symptoms you already spread the disease to your loved ones.

The solution which is described here is based on apps which people have on their smartphones. Such an app creates a so-called UUID (universal unique ID) when it’s installed and opened the first time. This ID is not known by anyone and cannot be connected to you personally. No one will know based on your ID who you are, where you are (and have been) and who your friends and contacts are.

The app will share that UUID with other people’s apps which are in a small distance less than about 7 feet. So while you’re moving around, a contact list on anonymous UUIDs will be collected on your device.

When someone is infected, this person sends his status including his contact list to a server (we call it “national trust center”).

You may check your infection risk daily by sending your UUID and your contact list to a server.  Now the sever is able to follow the contact chains of infected people and presents you a result in form of a “infection risk score” and also the contact chain(s) themself.

The calculation of the risk score is calculated by a mathematical model based on key facts about the disease, the contact times and durations of the UUIDs in the chains.

By doing so, the solution can save time to react. Time for your life and for the lives of your loved ones.
