An infection is detected by diagnosis of a doctor or when receiving the result from an infection test center. Thats what we call a proofed infection.
Once you receive a positive result, you may not show any symptoms. But you may be infectious to others.
Maybe you show symptoms and your app gives you a severity level that there is a high probability to be infected.
When you are able to see a doctor or to go to a test center soon, thats the best option to get a proofed result. But if that is not possible by any reasons you may also report your status without a TAN.
With the proof of infection however, you will receive a TAN, which you can use for the next step.
